7 Simple Fitness Hacks to Help You Get the Most Out of Every Workout
1 Have a plan to create consistency
It’s what you do the majority of the time that counts. Creating a consistent training program is therefore the main ingredient to achieving results you can be proud of. A plan lets you know exactly what you’re going to do when you lay out your mat or tie your shoes. And FitOn makes planning easy.
Spend some time on Sunday to establish your schedule. While you’re lounging, open your FitOn app and select your workouts for the week. You have plenty of options to get started!
If you want to choose your workout but just need a gentle push, plug in your workout selections and set workout reminders to help you stay on top of your fitness schedule during the busy week
2 Always warm up to reduce the risk of injury
The warm-up is a little boost to your muscles to alert them that they are about to work. This warning gives them the opportunity to relax and prepare for the activity. Ten minutes of light cardio and/or dynamic stretching will help you gradually increase your body temperature, heart rate and range of motion so you can push yourself during your workout while avoiding injury .
3 Find your mind-muscle connection to sculpt from head to toe
The effectiveness of strength training depends on the connection between mind and muscle. Your body likes to take the path of least resistance. Have you squatted to try to get a butt, without success? If you tend to use your quadriceps in a squat, your glutes won’t be there.
Make your workouts intentional by deciding which Fitness Hacks muscles you want to activate in each exercise. Then use deep focus to ensure they engage properly in the practice session.
4 Lift the right amount of weight
Let’s bust some myths! If you’ve been avoiding heavier weights for fear of getting bulky or injuring yourself, hear us out. We’re not saying you need to become a competitive powerlifter to get results. Choosing the right weight that will make the last two or three reps of a set difficult will help you get that toned body much faster. It takes more than a few gym sessions to look like a bodybuilder (that’s why they have to work so hard!) and, in fact, the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. By adopting the correct form, you will become stronger and reduce the risk of injury.
5. Finish with a stretch or foam massage to recover faster.
Your muscles are put to the test when they are used. Be kind to your body and take time to do something good for you and refresh yourself. Stretching after a workout helps you gain flexibility and range of motion, improve your posture, reduce muscle tension and stress, and improve blood circulation – all necessary for your muscles feel well enough the next day to return to work!
6 Get enough sleep to promote muscle repair
Along the same lines, when you exercise, you create micro-tears in your muscle fibers. They must be restored by sufficient recovery, including at least one to two days of rest per week and sufficient sleep.
When you rest, your body rebuilds your muscle fibers, making them stronger than they were before. We can all take it for granted, but that’s why rest is such an important part of your progress!
7 Don’t forget your diet!
Your diet is the peanut butter and jelly to your workout program (yes, we went there). They are incomplete without each other. Eating the right amounts of the right foods gives you the energy to crush your workouts, provides your muscles with the nutrients they need to repair, and helps you maintain a healthy body fat percentage.
